WHAT & WHEN?
This Tuesday, November 15th, Elim will meet again for prayer. Come to the sanctuary anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 PM to pray for our nation and the church in America.
WHY?
Even as the election is over our work as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ continues in earnest. Our prayer cannot be simply about results of an election, but to see the hearts and minds of many being turned to God.
WHY TOGETHER?
I am calling us to gather physically in one place, just like we do on a Sunday morning. Jesus said, “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst”, and, “My house shall be called a house of prayer”.
And in 2 Chronicles it is written, ” (if) My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (said to the Israelites, but shows us God’s heart for humanity).
HOW?
It’s informal and you don’t need the “perfect” words (or even to be praying aloud). God is more concerned with the heart prompting the words than the vocabulary you choose.
WHAT?
We’ll pray for the President, his Cabinet, Congress, the Supreme Court, and officials at the national, state, and local levels. We’ll pray for the people of Jesus in our land, that we live as a voice for righteousness, proclaiming truth in the same humility as our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Come join us at Elim on Tuesday, between 5:00 and 6:30 PM!
One eye to the sky,
