Titus Part 8

Sermon Notes:

Titus 2:11-14 (ESV)

  • “For…
    • the GRACE of God has appeared
      • bringing salvation for all people,
      • training us…
        • to renounce ungodliness and worldly passion, and…
        • to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
  • waiting…
    • for our blessed hope, the appearing of the GLORY of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
      • who gave himself for us,
        • to redeem us from all lawlessness, and…
        • to purify for himself a people…
          • for his own possession,
          • who are zealous for good works.”

Key Ideas:

  • Grace has a face. It’s Jesus.
  • Salvation is for everyone, even CretansI
  • The grace that saves also changes.
  • The salvation we can experience in Jesus has a past, present, and future reality.
  • Jesus gave himself for us to save us from sin, but also to save us from himself, for good works. Grace is training us for life in God’s love, life, in God’s family, and life in God’s purpose. This is our gospel education.
